Physical Agility Test
The Physical Agility test is the first phase of the department's hiring process. On the day of the test all applicants will report to the Police Department Training Center no later than 8:45a.m. Appropriate athletic attire, which includes trousers with belt loops and a belt is required for entry. Applicants may practice the Agility Test prior to the test date by scheduling an appointment with the Training Division. Test dates for the Agility Test and Assessment Center are posted on the Training Division's home page. If you need additional information contact the test administrator.
Physical Agility Test
Applicants begin the test by sitting in a patrol vehicle wearing a gun belt with a training weapon. The applicant is given a description of a suspect that he is pursuing. On command the applicant will exit the vehicle and complete the following course:

sprint approximately 60 yards and scale a 6 foot chain link fence

negotiate law crawl obstacle

negotiate window obstacle - 4 foot high - 30'' x 30''

sprint to suspect area and make appropriate suspect identification

sprint approximately 60 yards and pick up a 125 pound dummy.

move dummy a distance of 15 feet utilizing the fireman's carry
All applicants must successfully complete the course in the minimum allotted time of 56 seconds. Failing to negotiate any obstacle or crossing the finish line without all issued equipment will constitute failing. Please contact us for more info.
