Community Initiatives

Programs or events offered through the division of Community Initiatives are varied and change based on the needs of the community. Below are some of the events offered to the community free of charge.


Neighborhood Watch Program
Learn about developing a safer neighborhood and community cooperation. Participants will learn about home safety with an emphasis on looking out for your neighbor. To learn more about setting up your neighborhood, please contact Captain John Clay.



Citizen Police Academy
Learn about the Warner Robins Police Department and the dedicated officers that work for the citizens of Warner Robins. The Academy is held twice a year and covers a wide variety of topics such as the hiring process, communications, use of force, firearms, investigations, and crime scene processing.

Civilian Firearms Training Classes
The Warner Robins Police Department offers basic handgun classes for men and women throughout the year. There are three sessions to each class. Participants must attend all three classes. The first two sessions are in the classroom while the last class allows participants to shoot their handgun. Topics covered include Georgia law relating to private ownership and the carry of handguns, handgun safety, handgun selections and maintenance, and the basics of shooting a handgun.

This class is designed for the individual with little or no experience with handguns. Classes fill up quickly. Please fill out an application to sign up for upcoming classes.
