Required Documentation
The following guide was comprised to assist applicants in completing some of the paperwork required in the applicant process. The information provided below is not meant to be all inclusive, but merely as an aid in assisting the applicant getting started. Failure to complete all paperwork in a timely and accurate manner will result in the applicant being dismissed from the hiring process.

Background Investigation Package

  • color photograph of applicant ~ no photocopied pictures or webcam pictures

  • photocopy of drivers license

  • birth certificate

  • high school diploma

  • selective service registration number.  Need your registration number  ~ click here!

  • military discharge papers (DD214)

  • certified driver's history (must cover last 7 years). How do I get my Georgia driver's history ~ click here!

  • a list of all traffic citations and the court disposition

  • a detailed list of all law violations and the court disposition

  • an updated list of all previous employers and supervisors with current contact information

  • a list of all previous residences

 

Georgia  P.O.S.T. Application

  • color photograph of applicant ~ no photocopied pictures or webcam pictures

  • photocopy of drivers license

  • birth certificate

  • high school diploma

  • military discharge papers (DD214).

  • if you are an active member of the National Guard or Reserves you must obtain a letter from your unit stating that you are currently serving in a satisfactory manner and that if you were discharged today it would be under Honorable Conditions.

  • a detailed list of all traffic citations and the court disposition

  • a detailed list of all law violations and the court disposition

  • 2 fingerprint cards for criminal justice employment. May be obtained at W.R.P.D.'s Headquarters Building after sucessful completion of assessment center.

 

***Note -- Although both packages require the applicant  to submit some of the same information, it will not suffice to provide the required documentation in one package and not the other. Applicants who fail to follow the prescribed directions for completing the paperwork will be dismissed from the hiring process.**
